About Catering Roles

Cooks

As a cook at Kingswood, you’ll be responsible for ensuring the smooth running of the catering service and helping all guests and staff enjoy delicious, healthy and nutritious meals during their stay. Responsibilities of a cook include assisting in the preparation, cooking, and serving of all meals according to the designated menu while actively supporting the kitchen department. Additionally, you'll collaborate with the kitchen management team in crafting and designing menu choices, making your mark in creating delightful dining experiences for everyone at the centre.

Kitchen Managers

Whether you’re a manager or assistant kitchen manager, you will be responsible for ensuring all kitchen operations and activities align with the business's operating standards, procedures, and relevant legal requirements. Your commitment to upholding these standards will play a key role in maintaining a smooth and compliant kitchen environment.

Kitchen managers will be responsible for recruiting, supporting, managing, and mentoring your team to ensure a seamless and enjoyable catering experience. Assistant managers will assist the manager in these daily tasks.

Kitchen Assistant

In a kitchen assistant role, you will participate in the preparation, cooking, and serving of meals according to specified menus while ensuring hygiene and safety standards are met. You will also be responsible for cleaning kitchen equipment and work areas, wearing appropriate clothing, and implementing recommendations from statutory inspections. Additionally, maintaining sanitation and health standards, preparing designated foods, and checking kitchen equipment for hygiene and safety compliance will be part of your duties.

Kitchen Supervisor

As the Kitchen Supervisor, you will oversee the smooth running of our catering service, ensuring guests and staff enjoy healthy meals. You'll assist in meal preparation, cooking, and serving, while also leading and collaborating with Kitchen Assistants under the guidance of the Kitchen Manager. Maintaining cleanliness and safety standards is a priority in all aspects of your responsibilities.

What We Look For

  • Previous experience in a similar role
  • A positive attitude and commitment to providing nutritious meals
  • The ability to form positive relationships with colleagues
  • A basic Food Hygiene Certificate would be advantageous
  • Understands and can apply Health and Safety procedures relevant to the job such as; Manual handling; safe use of machinery and/or equipment; COSHH; First Aid, Hygiene Practice and HACCP.
  • Customer focussed with a passion for delivering high levels of service.
  • A good understanding of Health & Safety procedures
