We have found the best way to help children cope with being away from home is to keep them busy throughout the day. We also create a warm and supportive environment, so they quickly feel at home. You can also help prepare your child at home before they join us on the residential trip. Here are some tips on if your child gets homesick.

Teachers and party leaders are located near the children’s dormitories,so they are never far away if care is needed throughout the night. At our North Devon location, we also have a night duty team that is on call.

All Kingswood centres are independently inspected by the British Activity Providers Association (BAPA) and our staff vetted, inducted,and trained to the highest levels. All activities are also supervised by instructors who can recognise everyone’s own capabilities and pace. For most activities, we also ensure children are placed into groups of no more than 15 children to one instructor.
