What is the apprenticeship levy?

The apprenticeship levy is a tax on employers with an annual payroll bill of over £3 million at a rate of 0.5% of their monthly payroll. This tax goes into a pot which the employer then has two years to spend on the training and development of apprentices.

The Education and Skills Funding Agency have developed an online tool to estimate how much you will pay and the funding available to you.
