Activities

Healthy body = healthy mind

Expertly delivered and guaranteed to motivate young people, our exhilarating and challenging adventure activities are at the heart of all of our programmes. All have been tried and tested, chosen for the mental and physical prowess they promote. They encourage students to develop new motivation skills, potentiate teamwork and increase self-confidence, giving pupils a valuable sense of personal achievement. Combined with study modules, they form a perfect learning balance. We’re always adding new activities to our centres, so for the latest list at your chosen centre, check out its centre page or the particular activity page for full details.

Adventure activities can complement all of our programmes, or can be undertaken as stand-alone activity and sports courses, with options like Adventure Choice. As with all our courses, you get to pick ‘n’ mix the particular activities you would like your students to participate in to meet your specific goals and achievements for them.

Between the thrilled screams of excitement, you hear your pupils call to each other, see them bonding together, offering mutual support and encouragement through shared experience. This teambuilding aspect of many activities complements the National Curriculum & Scottish Curriculum in Personal Social & Health Education requirements, in addition to standards for Outdoor and Adventurous Activities.

Real Physical Exercise

Learning can — and should — be fun, to maximise the motivation potential of every pupil. Many of today’s younger generation, left to their own devices, are content to sit watching TV and playing computer games. At Kingswood they’ll learn the fullest benefits of physical exercise and enjoy testing their stamina.

Safety Conscious Instructors

Safety is always our top priority. That holds especially true for adventure activities. Indoors or out, all of these activities take place in a controlled, safe environment with equipment that is always carefully inspected. All activities only occur under the watchful eyes and involvement of highly trained staff.

Independent experts have trained our instructors and all have National Governing Body qualifications and lots of experience in coaching their respective activities. Each session begins with a safety primer for pupils. Psychologists maintain that risk taking is instinctive for young people. These activities enable pupils to experience risk sensations, while in the safest of circumstances.

Please note, our outdoor watersports activities are only available during the summer months.
