1. Learn how you cope with stress

It’s normal to feel stressed now and again. Whether it’s about school work, friendships or exams, there are lots of ways to manage how you’re feeling. You could take some deep breaths, go somewhere quiet to clear your thoughts or listen to your favourite music.

2. Don’t let homework overwhelm you

If you’re struggling with your work, tell your teacher. They would rather you talked to them about it than fall behind or say you simply didn’t do it. They can work with you to help you find a solution.

3. Look after yourself

Getting plenty of sleep and eating healthy meals can help you feel refreshed and ready to tackle the day. Try to fit in some exercise too – even if it’s just a short walk or bike ride.

4. Do what feels comfortable for you

Everyone is different so try not to compare yourself to others and don’t let peer pressure stop you from looking after yourself.

5. Tell someone about how you’re feeling

If you’re going through some challenges, try not to hide things because you’re worried about how people will react. You could write down how you’re feeling or speak to a friend, family member or teacher. Talking about how you feel is the first step towards getting the help you need.
