Meet our Marathon runners...Steve Anderson
It's Marathon week and this Sunday, Kingswood are entering four runners in the London Marathon to raise funds and awareness for our amazing chosen charity, YoungMinds, and our partners, The Scout Association.
Here we catch up with our fourth and final runner, Steve Anderson to find out how he's feeling about the big day.
Steve is Group Activities Manager here at Kingswood and is one of three Kingswood runners running for The Scout Association.

The London Marathon is nearly here! How are you feeling about it?
Good! Really excited to experience London is all its glory, well 26. 2 miles of it any way.
What kind of training have you been doing?
I have run 78 miles so far this year, all in preparation for the big day in London. It has been tough fitting in the long runs so I’m going to need my Scouting pals Holly and Steve to help me a lot on the day.
What does it mean to you to be running for the Scout Association?
The Scout Association are a fantastic organisation helping thousands of young people every day. I am very happy to be raising money for such a worthy charity. I especially like the purple running vest for Marathon day, it’s very fetching!
Have you run in any events like this before?
Yes I have run a few half marathons and I am a big Trail runner. My family and I are also big hikers, so almost every weekend we put our boots on and head to the mountains.
What motivates you as a runner?
I enjoy running as it keeps me fit. I really like running at all the Kingswood centres as you get to see the wonderful countryside in all weather conditions.
What is the best/ most rewarding thing about running in events like this?
Crossing the finish line and seeing my family cheer me on.
What is your top tip for marathon runners in training?
Pace yourself right from the start, don’t panic at the start line and maintain a comfortable breathing throughout. Wish me luck for the 23rd!
