Confidence Tracking

We’re over the moon to launch our brand new Confidence Tracker; and industry first! Our unique tool will evaluate and evidence the impact of your Kingswood residential experience on children’s confidence. We’ll track young people’s confidence levels pre and post visit to see how their adventure has helped them develop – all in line with the Ofsted Inspection Framework.

We believe residentials have never been more important. A recent All Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) report on the impact of the pandemic on the mental health of young people demonstrated clearly the genuine and immediate need to bring children together, in the outdoors to put down their devices and re-engage with themselves and those around them.

We recently spoke to Dr Emma Whewell, Deputy Subject Leader for Sport and Exercise at the University of Northampton, who contributed the report, and said: “Mental health is very personal and children have definitely been impacted differently by the pandemic. Our identities are formed by our interactions with other people and those around us – we mimic people we like. If our social interactions are restricted, we build our identity based on what we see, and this year that has mainly been online or on television”.

How Confidence Tracking works;

  • Kingswood send the party leader a link to share with the parent or carer of the child coming on the residential
  • The children, with their parents/carers, watch a short video asking them on a scale how confident they feel before they try an activity
  • The young people enjoy their Kingswood residential, packed with confidence and resilience boosting activities
  • On return to school, another email will be sent to the party leader to share with parents, and a second video invites children to record their reactions to an activity

A unique report is created for each school, showing how the group has developed in confidence as a result.
