Kingswood: Isle of Wight Zonation

(Full day or half day study. Tide dependent)

Whitecliff Bay is a sandy beach with rocky headlands, which provide an array of hypotheses relating to rocky shoreline ecology. Students investigate the shoreline ecology to gain an understanding of the biotic and abiotic factors that influence the rocky shore zone and adaptation of species.

Fieldwork: Quadrat analysis (succession transect), footpath profiles, management comparison.
