Peak Venture Centre in Sheffield, South Yorkshire was originally named after Scout Dike, the 20 acre rural waterside setting which it overlooks, the campus is set in 9 acres of parkland with sheltered woodlands and newly equipped activity zones. For the fully supervised water-based activities we have exclusive use of an adjacent watersports lake.
For Key stage 2 schools our Discovery programme consists of a choice of 15 themed modules designed to fire young imaginations and deliver stimulating learning within ICT, Science and Environmental Studies. At the heart of the programme is a choice of 38 challenging adventure activity sessions that encourage personal and team development skills.
The Peak Venture centre benefits from a range of activities including new ropes courses, challenge trails, outdoor climbing facilities as well as watersports sessions that run throughout the summer.
This is complimented by excellent new ICT facilities & environmental classrooms. Refurbished sleeping accommodation provides flexible self-contained dormitory bedroom units alongside upgraded teacher rooms.
Our Peak Venture Activity Centre is ideally situated for visiting schools from neighbouring Rotherham and Barnsley, and the Yorkshire area.
Peak Venture is situated one and a half miles north of the village of Penistone on the A629 Sheffield to Huddersfield road. From the M1 motorway, as you approach Barnsley, exit at junction 37 and take the A628 towards Manchester. After approximately 0.9 miles, take the first exit at the roundabout, staying on the A628. After a further 3.5 miles, you will approach another roundabout where you should take the third exit onto the A629 to Huddersfield. After a further 1.6 miles, the Peak Venture Centre will be on your right.
