Kingswood, the leading provider of residential educational activity centres, has released artist impressions of its proposal for a new educational facility on the former Earth Centre site.
Speaking following a successful public exhibition Paul Gilbert, Kingswood CEO said: “After discussing our plans with the local community, I’m pleased to confirm we are calling our new educational facility The Kingswood Dearne Valley Centre and have submitted our proposals for the new centre to Doncaster Council.”
The artist’s impression released by Kingswood shows how the company intends to create a multi-million pound flagship residential activity centre on the site, continuing the site’s heritage as a centre for learning for children and young people, focused on environmental sustainability. Kingswood intends to retain and refurbish the site’s existing buildings as well as build new accommodation units for visiting students and teachers with a view to opening its doors in spring 2012. The Dearne Valley Activity Centre will feature an 11,000sq ft indoor activity and sports hall, classrooms for ICT, field studies facilities and meeting rooms. It will offer low height initiative exercises, a high adrenaline ropes park for team building activities and multiple options for evening entertainment for visiting groups including indoor and outdoor amphitheatres and performing arts facilities.
