For
2004 we are launching a series of foundation courses for teachers.
These will run from our Teacher Training Centre at Overstrand Hall
- one of England's finest country houses, on the unspoilt North
Norfolk Coast. The four new courses are split between Accelerated
Learning and Mind Mapping techniques - which explore the psychology
of learning and optimum study techniques - and practical guides
in the areas of risk assessment and elements of the ICT curriculum.
Teaching
the ICT Curriculum
An invaluable insight into introducing basic control and multi-media
techniques to pupils. We will take you through digital animation
using Flash 5, control technology using Lego RoboLab, web design
and authoring techniques, interactive storyboarding and multi-software
skills, using Site Central web design software and our favourite
music mixing programme, Dance Ejay. An ideal opportunity to view
our hi-tec Dell furnished labs and sample our range of ICT modules.
Accelerated
Learning
An engaging and interactive programme in the basic principles of
Accelerated Learning. Our course ventures into such intriguing territories
as natural memory rhythms, mind mapping, different learning styles
and multiple intelligences, then makes suggestions for the application
of accelerated learning in the classroom. Available as a 3-hour
'Twilight Session', half day or full day programme.
Risk
Assessment for evc's & School Visit Organisers
It
is Kingswood's business to work closely alongside LEAs and to meet
the guidelines of the DfES in the organisation of school trips.
This one day course will take you through the minefield of risk
assessments: how to identify risks, assess all the possible outcomes
and how to factor these risks into your planning. It also covers
advance planning considerations, pre-trip visits and supervision
methods.
Goal
Mapping
This one day course will enrich teachers with the relevant skills
and support material to teach the Goal Mapping Technique to children
of all ages. A powerful combination of goal setting principles,
the flexibility of mind mapping and the subconscious impact of accelerated
learning. Enhances left-brain logic with right-brain imagination
to produce whole-brain effectiveness!
