ICT Modules
Our innovative ICT modules are designedto capture students’ imagination and enthusiasm, encouraging them to embrace new technologies while working together as a team. Choose from the following options, combining them with English language lessons and adventure activities.
Art Beat
Students are shown how to create their own musical accompaniment to a renowned art masterpiece. They then reinterpret a piece of classical music as art, using remarkable software exclusive to Kingswood which mirrors elements of the music, allowing them to literally draw a symphony.
Flash Dance
An introduction to the world of computer animation, inspiring students to use their imagination. Students bring a creature to life on screen, complete with narration and background music, using Flash software.
Saving Swampy’s Woodland
Swampy’s woodland habitat is under attack! Students have to make their case for saving an area of woodland from impending bulldozers. They’ll go out into the field, study the structure, intricacies and adaptation of plants before heading back to the ICT lab to produce their own protest posters and save the day.
iVenture
Students capture photographic evidence of their group tackling daring high adrenaline activities. In the ICT labs they’ll create a storyboard, animate their images, compose a soundtrack, add graphics and voiceover to put together an amazing interactive slide show. Everyone gets a copy of the finished work to take home.
Finding Fin
As the river dries up it’s a race against time to help Fin the fish find a new home. Pupils evaluate a proposed river by measuring depth and velocity, using nets to identify the current inhabitants and charts to assess whether it’s polluted. Back in the computer lab pupils create a poster showing the areas of the river most suitable for our fishy friend.
