Local Produce
From escargots to baguettes, France is famous for its cuisine & gastronomy, and during these excursions students get to add to their French School Trip experience. Groups spend time with local producers to discover (in French!) the history of famous French delicacies and can even try their hand at creating some for themselves!
Neufchatel
Learn how the famous Neufchatel Cheese is produced at this typical working farm. Students get to see the cheese being hand made, sample different types as they mature and have the opportunity to take some of this world famous fromage back to friends and family in the UK. Ideal for groups that have visited Dieppe in the morning or returning from Rouen.
Cider Factory, Criel-sur-Mer
You can really appreciate the pride this family take in their local cider as they guide you around their cider house in Criel-sur-Mer. The tour begins with a talk about the history of the business before going onto the production of the cider. An ideal opportunity for a tasting session for teachers with the option to take home some samples – all in the name of research!
Boulangerie, Criel-sur-Mer
Spend a morning visiting the local Boulangerie in Criel-sur-Mer to meet the local baker and be taught how to make your very own pain-au-chocolat and baguette. This is an ideal hands-on experience of French produce. Just to add to the learning (and the fun!) the instructions that your young trainee chefs will receive are in French! Visit commences at around 9am and finishes just in time for lunch around noon, ready for the group to enjoy their hand-made food for lunch.
