Eu
No visit to France would be complete without exploring a French Castle. The town of Eu is the last Royal domain of France and deploys an exceptional patrimony, testimony of French history. This is the home of the Chateau d’Eu, built by Catherine de Cleves and Henry de Guise from 1578 and completed in 1665. In the 19th century, the castle became the summer residence of King Louis-Philippe who received Queen Victoria there twice. Since 1985, the Chateau has been listed as an historical monument and has undergone substantial restoration.
